Six Years Ago - The AHS Class of 2020.
You all remember this, but with the scare of the Hantavirus going around, we thought we should spotlight the amazing efforts done when Covid was big.
March 2020 was when the whole world shut down and people weren't so sure about how graduation would go. AHS was no different. Something needed to be done for this class.
So with the help of the community, Andrews High School organized a grand celebration. The first big thing was the Cat Walk. The Cat Walk didn't go through Andrews Elementary like usual, but through the entire downtown area. The ceremony was held at Freedom Memorial Plaza, where attendance was very limited, and the now famous senior banners were put up! And to permanently honor this class, a bench with "A.H.S. 2020" engraved on it was placed at the top of the School House Steps.
We would love to thank Dr. Lisa Fletcher, who was principal at the time, the staff of AHS at the time, and the Andrews community for helping with these efforts six years ago. If this ever happens again (let's hope not), then rest assured we will be prepared!
