Happy Birthday Officer Phillips!
Spring Break is April 13-17. No newsletter next week. The newsletter will return on Sunday, April 19th.
Please note that beginning part of Bristol Avenue will be closed to traffic. This area runs from the AHS exit all the way to Wooten Hollow. The closure will affect two of our bus routes.
Per CCS policy, students who have more than 7 absences will receive a failing grade for the semester.
If you missed Open House but would still like to learn about Parent Portal, an online site where parents can go and access student's grades and attendance, please come by AHS to get instructions. We will need a copy of your picture ID. You can bring it with you or we can make a copy for you. There is also an agreement you must sign. If you would like to download a copy and bring it with you, you can find it at Cherokee County Schools website at: www.cherokee.k12.nc.us and choose the Parent Portal Use Agreement link in the center of the page.
AHS school day begins at and ends at . Excessive tardies will result in detention. Please ensure your son or daughter is at school and on time.
Students cannot sign out of school for lunch. Leaving for lunch is an infraction of Cherokee County Board Policy 4215 (see page 9 in your handbook). Students leaving for lunch, or family/friends bringing food from restaurants to school, violates the guidelines for the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch program.
Lunch is provided daily at AHS and students are welcome to bring lunch from home, but there can be no outside commercial competition to the Free and Reduced Lunch Program. Violation of this policy jeopardizes the Free and Reduced Lunch program for all students.
If students have dentist or doctor's appointments scheduled during lunch, parents will need to come to AHS and sign out their students in person.
