Ways to Help Andrews High School

Plants:  Andrews High will happily accept donations of indoor and outdoor plants.  Just let us know if you have things to donate and we will be happy to pick them up.

Donate Books:  AHS is participating in the Give Five - Read Five program.  We are asking members of the community to donate five new or gently used books to the high school. The books will be given to students to read over the summer.  

Classic Novels:  AHS is also collecting copies of classic novels.  If you have copies at home or find them at Thrift stores or garage sales, please consider donating them to AHS.  We need copies of the following books.

Grants
:  AHS is looking for grants to help fund a variety of projects.  These include adding technology through iPads and computers, building a Field House and Public Restrooms in the stadium, and helping to fund trips for students to see professional or collegiate level theater productions or musical performances.  If you know of any grants, please send the information to Lisa Anderson at lisa.anderson@cherokee.k12.nc.us

Sign Sponsorships:  If your business would like to have a banner in the stadium, please contact Robin Hughes at 321-5415.  The signs hang in the stadium in the fall, in the gym in the winter, and at the baseball and softball fields in the spring.  


Plants:  AHS is continuing to beautify the campus.  As you are digging up or splitting plants this fall, please consider donating some of your extra plants to AHS.  We will be landscaping in the stadium and around the campus this fall. Can't deliver the plants to AHS?  No worries.  Just call and we'll pick them up.   

 

Storage Building: AHS is looking for a storage building.  If you have a medium size  (10’ x 20’) building that you would like to donate please contact Lisa Anderson at 321-5415. 


Greenhouse Expert:  We are looking assistance in completing the setup of our AHS greenhouse.  Are you an expert?  Have a little experience working in a greenhouse?  Please consider volunteering to help us with ours. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Lisa Anderson at 321-5415.  This greenhouse will be used in the spring by horticulture classes and upper level foods classes. 


Carpentry Skills:  Several pieces of furniture at AHS are in need of repair.  Have carpentry skills and a little time to help restore these pieces?  We would appreciate your help!  Contact Lisa Anderson for more information.
